While positive social relationships  might hinder maths, an emotionally safe classroom environment was helpful for maths academic achievement..  The implications from this study according to the autohrs are that school based practitioners need to consider protective and proactive teaching and cousnelling programs for adolescents friendship and social-emotional development.
